What you are buying.

These terms are the agreement between you and The Space in Between LLC, Pocatello, Idaho, which runs My Own Manual. Buying a manual or using this site means you accept them.

What a manual is, and what it is not

Every manual is educational material written by a licensed counselor. It sets out what a structured, evidence-based approach to a problem usually involves, in the order it is usually done.

It is not therapy, diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice. Reading it does not make you a patient and does not create a clinician and patient relationship with anyone. It is not a substitute for care when care is what you need, and no manual can know your situation.

Some of the approaches in these manuals are demanding, and a few are not appropriate for everyone. Every manual opens with a page that says who it is not for and when to work with a clinician instead. Please read it. If you are currently in treatment, tell whoever is treating you that you are using one of these, so it can be worked in rather than against.

Your licence

When you buy a manual you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read and use it, for as long as this site operates. One purchase is for one person: you.

You may:

• read it on any device you sign in from
• work through the exercises and keep your own written answers
• use what you learn in your own life, without limit
• discuss it with your own therapist, doctor, or anyone else you choose

You may not:

• copy, download, scrape, screenshot in bulk, record, or reproduce the text
• share your account, or your sign-in link, with anyone else
• resell, sublicense, lend, or give away your access
• use it with clients, patients, groups, students, or employees, or in any professional or commercial setting
• use it to build a competing program, or as training data for any model or system

The manuals, the exercises, the diagrams, and the site itself remain our property. The clinical approaches they teach belong to the field and to no one; the particular way they are written, sequenced, and illustrated here does not.

What you write stays yours. Your answers inside a manual belong to you. We claim no rights over them. See the privacy policy for what happens to them.

Clinicians

This site sells to individuals for their own use. There is no clinician licence here, and using a personal copy in practice is outside this agreement. A separate professional edition is planned. Until it exists, write to support@myownmanual.com rather than working around these terms.

Price, payment, and what you get

• Standard edition: $39. The full manual and its exercises.
• Elite edition: $69. Everything in Standard plus the Toolkit.
• Upgrading from Standard to Elite later costs the difference, $30, and nothing you have written is lost.
• After your first manual, every other one is 20% off, whenever you buy it.

One payment, not a subscription. Nothing renews and nothing is charged again. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that may apply where you are. Payment is handled by Stripe under its own terms.

Access lasts as long as the site does. If we ever have to close it, we will give account holders reasonable notice and a way to take their written answers with them.

Refunds

Fourteen days from purchase, if you have opened fewer than three modules. Write to support@myownmanual.com and say which manual. You do not have to explain yourself.

The module limit exists because the whole manual is readable the moment you buy it. If you are past the limit and something has genuinely gone wrong, write anyway and we will look at it.

Your account

Sign-in is by one-time link, so there is no password to lose, but the link is as good as a key: do not forward it. Tell us at support@myownmanual.com if you think someone else has reached your account. We may suspend an account that is being shared, resold, or used to copy the material, and we will tell you why.

Liability

The manuals are provided as they are. We have written them carefully and we stand behind the quality of the work, but we cannot promise a particular result, because no honest person could. What helps one person does not help another, and nothing here can account for your circumstances.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the manual the claim concerns. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Some states do not allow certain exclusions of implied warranties or of incidental damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. You may also have consumer rights that these terms cannot reduce, and they are unaffected.

Accessibility

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 AA. If something here stops you using what you bought, write to support@myownmanual.com and we will fix it or find you another way in. See the accessibility statement.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that governs your purchase is the one published when you bought. Changes are dated at the top of this page, and a change that materially affects existing buyers will be e-mailed to account holders.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts sitting in Bannock County, Idaho, unless the consumer law where you live gives you the right to sue somewhere else, in which case that right stands.
